An event idea i had would be a 2008 or 2009 TF2 day.

An item whitelist restricts hats and weapons to what was available during whichever time we want to mimic, reverts are also configured to their 2009 versions, a mapcycle with maps that were in the game (including community maps) at that time ...

I think it'd be a great idea to set aside one day a month (or however frequent is convenient) for a fun event, with special settings or rules or maps in place. If randoms on board with something like this, use this thread to brainstorm and discuss event ideas.

While playing MGE in VA#2 a lot of players couldn't join because "map is missing". I'm fairly certain they played MGE before and had the right map downloaded, but for whatever reason they couldn't play. it might be an issue with fastDL or the map name.

I've implemented this on Virginia 2 only. There is a MGE map, which can be nominated infinitely (it never enters the "played recently" pool) and the MGEmod plugin activates only on that map. There are currently no player count restrictions on when you can nominate it, nor does it get swapped off ...

I'd much prefer an MGE mode to be available over a DM mode automatically enabled on low player counts, itd give the early players more choice on how they want to play, as well as more arenas to choose from, and the ability to have a fair 1v1 with someone which isn't something you can get in castaway ...

The MGE sourcemod plugin is compatible with the Weapon Reverts Extended plugin. I have tried this multiple times on a dedicated server when testing reverts with other people.

Unlike the standard Invisibility Watch, Dispensers and ammo cannot replenish the Cloak meter while invisible.

That's bullshit. The new-style dead ringer never let you refill from ammo while cloaked.


You must be thinking of the jungle inferno nerf or something, you could pick up packs while cloaked with the tough break dead ringer, though in practice it was often better to decloak right before picking ...

I think the pre-GM dead ringer is preferred is because of feigning on low health is much more consistent than the Tough Break dead ringer, I guess that tanking crockets with 15 HP is what dead ringer should always been doing.


I haven't heard any spy mains say the pre gun mettle DR was better ...

That just means prior to pyromania it had a 10% boost and then come pyromania it was removed and all base flame damage was increased. But prior to that it had 10% to distinguish itself which would make it a valid statline. It's a similar situation to swap speed, gun mettle universally increased ...

The backburner's +10% damage revert is actually inaccurate, the damage bonus was never removed, the pyromania update just applied that bonus to all other flamethrowers. that is to say it never actually behaved like it does on castaway.
