YouTube Clip Submission Thread

This will be the new and improved clip thread. The main reason for this is because Steam has a bad habit of hiding any posts with links it thinks are dangerous which will not be a problem here. Additionally, you can embed video files directly here I believe which means you can preview clips in the thread if you have a direct link to the file.
This thread is for submitting clips to be uploaded to the Castaway YouTube channel.

Please respond with something along the lines of the following template:
For recording clips, I would recommend recording them locally using recording software such as OBS or the new Steam Game Recording feature.
Additionally, every single Castaway match is recorded via demos, which are available at the Demo Archive (link also on the website) for your usage. Clips don't have certain hud elements so if you want to take first person video, recording your own screen is still your best bet.

- Clip Link: A link to your clip. The clip should be fully rendered and ready to go, I do not accept demo files and I upload the clips exactly as you provide them. If you choose to email a clip, please just mention so in this thread as I do not check the email inbox otherwise.
- Thumbnail (Optional): The thumbnail you wish to use for the clip. One is auto generated if not provided. JPG files preferred
- Clip Name (Optional): The name for the clip. I will come up with one if you don't provide anything
- Clip Description (Optional): The description for the clip. I will come up with one if you don't provide anything
- catbox.moe: Free, permanent linking of files up to 200MB. Can go down often and may be slow to load
- litterbox.catbox.moe: Free, temporary linking of files up to 1GB. Can go down often and may be slow to load. Make sure to select the expiration time before you upload the file. Permanent upload solutions preferred as I don't always get to clips in the 3 day max window litterbox provides.
- mega.nz: Free, permanent storage of files with much higher bounds than 1GB. I would recommend this over litterbox as I am not always able to upload before litterbox expiration.
- Other file sharing sites: Any other file sharing site you prefer can also be used as long as you can link me the file
- Email: You can send clips to castaway.tf@gmail.com if you don't want to link directly, such as if you have them uploaded to a google drive but don't want to leak your account publicly. If you do this, just mention that you emailed a clip as I won't check the inbox otherwise.

Clip Submission Guidelines
- Make sure the footage is on castaway: This is redundant to mention but this channel is intended for gameplay clips from our servers featuring our community, please don't submit clips from casual or other servers.
- Make sure your clip is interesting: I will generally accept any submissions provided, but people will enjoy interesting clips more than uninteresting ones. Some examples of uninteresting clips would be: Someone micspamming (and that's it), killing an eceleb, or looking at someone's loadout. Generally try to make sure clips you upload are at least entertaining to watch.
- Have a good length: Slightly longer clips tend to be funnier, I would guess around the 30s-1m range at minimum. I will go ahead and hard limit the clip length to 1 hour here, not that I suspect anyone will give me a clip that lasts that long. If your clip is of an entire round, I might make a separate playlist for longer form videos on the channel. Feel free to post them, we'll cross that bridge when we get there.
- Edit away: I will upload whatever video you give me, unedited. If you wish to include your own editing in the video, you can feel free to, I will leave it untouched. If you, based on your own judgement, want to censor content in the video, go ahead.
- Avoid copyrighted music: Not that I personally care, but if you include it in your clip, the wonderful people at YouTube will probably just mute the audio of the entire video. Try not to record such audio if you want to take a good clip.
- No porn sprays: Similar to above, I personally do not care but YouTube certainly does.
- Use your judgement: If you think the clip would probably get removed by YouTube, it might be a good idea not to upload it. If your clip gets age restricted or removed, that is out of my control.
