I'm not sure if you can upload an image directly for the signature but the way I think everyone else does it is to upload an image somewhere else (catbox, or my recommendation imgchest) then use the [ img ] tag to embed it

You click “attachments” tab next to the options tab under the “preview” “submit” buttons. You can attach an image file then. (For posts)

Otherwise I’d use an image hosting site. I also used tiny url to clean up the image name.
