Re: Suggestions
Originally I had an off-topic subforum but I felt like it would just encourage non castaway related posts. But at the same time a lot of people seem to want one so I'll make one
A sourcepawn megathread could just be made in the technology subforum, I'm not sure if there would be enough content to justify an entire subforum

Oh, they never lie. They dissemble, evade, prevaricate, confound, confuse, distract, obscure, subtly misrepresent and willfully misunderstand with what often appears to be a positively gleeful relish and are generally perfectly capable of contriving to give one an utterly unambiguous impression of their future course of action while in fact intending to do exactly the opposite, but they never lie. Perish the thought.

I don't know exactly how to add a font but I'll explore it tomorrow to see how easy it is

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe BAMF essentially supercedes ABS which is why I didn't include it. The gamemode type lib is the only thing I think worth mentioning, as the BAMF .fgd and hammer resources are just betterWivernik wrote: Sat Feb 07, 2026 11:07 am ABS mapping resource pack and troubleshooting options to the additional resources section of maps & assets

Re: Suggestions
Add emoji replies/reactions to posts.
Pros:
Pros:
- Adds a quick way to gauge agreement on a post
- Lowers forum clutter by making “i agree” replies redundant
- They are part of the culture of a lot of forums people are used to, including steam groups
- Admins can add custom emojis (could be a reward for community contests or more)
- Might reduce discussions to a popularity contest
- Reduces replies to a simple binary
- It’s too much like reddit/discord

Re: Suggestions
Reactions tend to turn things into popularity contests like reddit where people make posts just for the sake of getting reactions. If you have a strong enough reaction to someone you can reply to their post and otherwise can just keep silent

Re: Suggestions
We need a dedicated development subforum for the weapon reverts plugin. Having posts that don't get deleted by Steam chat is a godsend, and it allows for reviewing past notes.
It also allows other members to do suggestions for the weapon reverts plugin. We need this and its been long overdue. Some suggestions get buried inside the weapon reverts megathread.
It also helps with getting help for localization too.

Re: Suggestions
How about generally adding more/replacing existing emojis, is that possible? I think it's a big part of community's identity and aesthetics. I could make some, perhaps in style of the current ones as well, or more detached from that if neededrandom wrote: Sat Feb 07, 2026 8:31 pm Reactions tend to turn things into popularity contests like reddit where people make posts just for the sake of getting reactions. Re: Suggestions
I can look into it, it's probably possible. Would just need a set of emojis to add. If it's a complete replacement the style can be different but I don't think you need to restrict yourself to just that styleKvasorob wrote: Sun Feb 08, 2026 1:52 amHow about generally adding more/replacing existing emojis, is that possible? Just have 3 sets of emojis:
The default phpbb ones we have now. For some primetime nostalgia.
Then a set of steam ones.
Finally. The game that unites us all. TF2.

Re: Suggestions
Can we have inline code bbcode of some sort?
It quickly get's annoying
if there's a bunch of
and
and
That code tags are here at all is great, but they are best used for either long commands
or multiline code snippets.
Otherwise, they quickly eat up vertical space.
Here's a example of what I mean when I say inline.
https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/bbco ... ne_bbcode/
It's also very useful if the font color, font and hightlight/background could be set for said inlines.
Beyond that: several inline codes on the same line would be really nice.
Example illustrated with this:
Now the illustration cannot really do it justice because there's virtually zero margins between the edges of the highlight and the text. But good enough to illustrate what I'm thinking.

A couple of more suggestions:
- Integrate the server status checker from the main website below the top menu or somewhere else appropriate
- Dark theme.

How about moving over community gallery submission thread? Or creative works is replacement for that?

Re: Suggestions
Sure, I'll move the thread over. The gallery on the website isn't going away so still accepting submissions for itKvasorob wrote: Mon Feb 09, 2026 8:37 am How about moving over community gallery submission thread? Or creative works is replacement for that?

The thing about dark mode is I don't think the current theme I'm using supports it. Would have to change themes

Re: Suggestions (Forums)
If possible, add an option to sort threads by post activity. Maybe have recent posts on the home page.
(edit) I just saw the "new posts" button.
