Finally got to play on most of the new maps, and I'm mostly disappointed
Wildcat is a bit too confusing, not terrible but could be better
Basalt, I didn't like, I know a lot of people did but I found it awkward to play on
Hills, it's fine, but there's a lot of better koth maps
Munitions, was looking forward to trying it, ended up being very disappointed, underbaked and unfinished, rooms are too big and too empty. A shame that Rumford hasn't made it in but this has.
System, can't do much on it beside camp on your base or go on the enemy base, get 1 kill then die, the cart gimmick is fine
Oldwood, decent, probably the best CTF map we got, but not that amazing either
I still haven't tried priderock or radiant, the former is probably shit while the second is probably a meme map akin to barn and vikings

radiant might be the best out of the bunch and it's an actual map and it's robot destruction, but it's layout is kinda mazey and gimmicky, and yeah it still doesn't play that well, try it when you'll be able to.
But yeah I agree with the rest, most maps are underwhelming and I may as well wouldn't even play them at all, though generally I don't like majority of custom maps castaway has except skyscraper and garbage day and maybe couple more I can't rememeber. And I feel like a lot of people share this attitude because I also basically never see a custom map like vikings when I play, thankfully, though I also play EU most of time. default map pool just has enough of solid maps to fuel an entire sesh for a day, and to play the next day and restart the previous day's maps and play them again. I am all for trying out new stuff and it's hard to rival original maps obviously, but majority of custom maps we have right now just dont feel any interesting to me and in fact I want to play the server less if it's on some obscure or boundary.
Maybe in future my opinions might change but for now I never feel like weekends are any different from weekdays, most people vote/nominate vanilla maps anyway and I can't try most new maps for a month now at this point, but every time I tried a new map I only knew disappointment, still haven't played priderock and I already heard that it's not that great. Only exception to all of this is oldwood, it's a pretty decent dm map, also reminds me a lot of dod_colmar because of visuals

I'd like to set up a poll for maps in the next few days. This is going to be a rather large and sweeping poll because we have so many maps now. I want to have a poll for some of the lesser played official maps to be moved to the weekend rotation, for example haarp. This might also mean other official maps could return weekend-only, like watergate. This one will take a long time to set up due to the sheer number of maps so I'll do it when I get time

I think it's high time we did some culling to the map pool. Right now there's 96 maps in regular rotation. 125 on the weekends.

Warpath is a really old map that I genuinely think the server would have a lot of fun playing especially with the weapon reverts.

This looks like it was made in 2 hours, stop suggesting maps just because it's le heckin old nostalgiarino, look at the last time we got a bunch of custom maps, 80% of them turned out to be bad

I second these, from running around them in-game the SD map is my favorite of the two but the RD map is probably good as well

I saw those on the workshop last week. I walked around both on a LAN server and Uplink seemed mediocre, but maybe it plays well. Eschaton looked very promising, would love to try it on a full server.

Im not suggesting it because of that. Its a genuinely fun map. I also dont know why you care. Ive never seen you on the server before literally only on this thread

I completed the custom map poll. About Mannpower, if it is added to rotation it should be like PASS Time where we just pick the single best map and call it a day. From my memory, Thunder Mountain was the only fun Mannpower map. It's super open, so you got the most out of the grappling hook gimmick and gave people more room to maneuver around the BS that inevitably comes with the powerups.

only somewhat bizarre choice for me was snowplow in the poll, i dont really remember it ever killing the server, while not particularly popular it isnt really comparable to slop like haarp sulfur or degroot imo

both of these need to be added on the next batch of maps, special delivery and robot destruction maps are rare as hell we need to try what we can, SD, RD, and TR all deserve far more maps!

I don't know when I will decide to do this, but just looking at this thread this is what I'd probably add right now at a brief skim:
Feel free to give more suggestions, or run around in any of these maps to give preliminary opinions such as if they're broken or just bad - I did this by just looking at screenshots of the maps. We could use some more variety in payload, pass time (if any good custom maps exist), tc, and all the scarce/specialized gamemodes (which is why I'm eager to try more sd/rd even if they end up being mediocre).
I would also like to know if there's any "iconic" custom maps we're missing that would be good to add, since at some point I think our rotation will be too large to keep adding maps and doing it sooner rather than later would be good. If you are looking for lazytown in particular, I think it wouldn't be great despite being iconic, I can't see anyone wanting to play it for a full 45 minutes

There are 3 maps on the Castaway map download page that were never tried on the servers:
I'd like to try Follower at the very least, right now we only have 2 custom 5CP maps.
